Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2019
How does it affect you?
From Monday 2nd September, schools have to show they were now referring to the latest version of Keeping children safe in education.
The new statutory guidance comes just one year after the 2018 update so there are not a large number of changes, but as there were references to specific safeguarding issues such as upskirting and serious violence, knowledge of these key issues is vital.
KCSIE 2019: The impact on schools
As of September 2019, policies and procedures must reflect the KCSIE 2019 changes and staff will need to have read and understood part one of this version.
EduCare's Pastoral Care expert and Product Development Lead for Education, Dawn Jotham, has reviewed the latest guidance and summarised how it may affect maintained schools, nursery schools, colleges, independent schools, academy trusts, special schools and pupil referral units.
