Featured Course: Effective Safeguarding Practice for Early Years Practitioners
All registered early years providers must meet the safeguarding and welfare requirements for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and work within the broader safeguarding legal and regulatory framework.
Accessing high-quality safeguarding training regularly is essential to ensure staff can identify child abuse and neglect and be able to respond appropriately to it.
Effective Safeguarding Practice is an online training course that EduCare has developed in partnership with the Pre-school Learning Alliance that gives a greater understanding of key safeguarding issues for consideration in an early years environment.
The course covers how to better understand how to identify and respond to child abuse and neglect and how Early Years practitioners need to comply with their Local Safeguarding Children’s Board safeguarding procedures and other regulatory frameworks for safeguarding, such as the Early Years Foundation Stage safeguarding and welfare requirements.
The Effective Safeguarding Practice course is offered to all Alliance members for free as one of their key membership benefits. Since its launch, nearly 20,000 members and their teams have completed the course.
Neil Leitch, Chief Executive of the Pre-school Learning Alliance commented: “Without EduCare’s involvement, it certainly wouldn’t have been possible to reach so many members so quickly with such important information, in such an accessible way.”
Michael Freeston, Director of Quality Improvement continues: “As you can imagine, this is a complex and sensitive area to cover. Those completing the course have been hugely positive about it - many undertaking further training, reviewing and changing their safeguarding practice.”
Pre-school Alliance members and their entire teams are able to access a broad range of online training courses for free as part of their membership. They are also able to purchase EduCare training courses at a significant discount.
