Produced with West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, ‘First Aid Essentials’ aims to give learners the confidence needed to react in an incident when someone urgently needs help.

Many people say they would be worried about getting involved in an incident in case they got it wrong and made the situation worse, but even a little knowledge can be a really big help.

First Aid Essentials is a three module training course and delivers three CPD hours. The course comprehensively covers:

  • providing basic life support
  • how to react in life threatening situations
  • how to deal with someone who is choking, drowning, seizing, bleeding or having an allergic reaction
  • what to do if somebody has a broken bone or experienced a burn
  • how to handle day-to-day incidents such as nose bleeds, insect bites, stings, sprains and strains and sunburn.

As learners can take the course online in their own time, content can be shared or revisited as many times as is needed. For example, staff could take the course ahead of an event or school trip, whenever it would be needed.

Simple, convenient and very useful. We’re especially proud of it and hope you think so too.
