There is no health without mental health

There is no health without mental health

The World Health Organisation predicts that by 2030 more people will be affected by depression than any other health problem. With one in ten children between the ages of 5 and 16 suffering from a mental health condition, it is vital that this is a high agenda item for all schools and anyone working with children and young people.

Mental Wellbeing in Children and Young People

EduCare have launched a new Mental Wellbeing course in partnership with YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people.

The online course covers common Mental Health issues faced by children and young people, how to build resilience and what support mechanisms can be put in place for those experiencing Mental Health problems.

Speaking about the new course, EduCare’s founder and CEO, Keir McDonald MBE commented: “Earlier this year the Prime Minister pledged to ensure that every school has a mental health first aider. The Department for Education has also highlighted the need for a better understanding of a wide range of mental health conditions. EduCare decided to take the step to create a new training course to help speed up this process, allowing all schools in the UK quick and easy access to this important training.”

Reduce the stigma of mental health

Hannah Kinsey, Training Manager from YoungMinds commented: “An important part of Mental Health Awareness training is to work to reduce the stigma of mental health. Our new course with EduCare informs and educates, and will provide a vital tool to any educator.”

Mental Wellbeing is available to buy as an individual course from EduCare’s online shop and has also been added to our online learning service. Customers who are already using our new learning platform will automatically be given access to the new course at no extra cost.
